Yugoslavia-born Sasha Montenegro was very young when her parents moved to Argentina, and she has made Latin America her home ever since. Before becoming famous as the wife of former Mexican president Jose Lopez Portillo, she was one of the biggest nude stars of '70s Mexican cinema and appeared in more than seventy films, television series, and mini-series. She made her debut in Un Sueno de amor (1972) and helped usher in a permissive new era of skinema in the formerly prudish Mexican film industry. Some of Sasha's most skintastic moments, however, appear in her '80s body of work, most notably in Las Tentadoras (1980) and El Hijo de Pedro Navaja (1986), both of which featured several full-frontal shots of her fantastic body and fluffy black muff. Though she appeared to retire from acting in 1991, she turned up on the 2002 TV series Las Vias del amor, so there's hope yet she may treat fans to another flash of flesh.

In 2001 a Mexican court awarded Sasha five million pesos ($500,000 U.S. dollars) for "reparation of moral damages" caused by two "libelous" 1997 magazine articles about her. Attorney Joel Sanchez Rodriguez said of the case: "No middle-aged person in our country doesn't know that the grand part of the work that [Sasha] conducted as an actress, she did without clothing or with very little clothing, and that the majority of her films were rated 'C,' and this is indisputable. However, it ought to worry the Mexican people, the fact that in this case the judges acted not with the spirit of justice, but that of repression and obeying political influence more than the law."
